New Hope Opportunities provides programs to help  children, youth and adults in our community. These programs consist of educational programs and impact programs. Educational programs allow  our students to gain academic and vocational skills and are designed to provide a Biblically based curriculum for our students in each area of study. Our Impact programs are designed to add a new positive dimension to the lives of our community. These programs are for families, children, youth and adults.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

HOPE SCHOOL

Hope School is a biblically-based private school for children in extreme poverty. 2017 was our first year of providing a quality education for children in preschool and first grade, with the goal of adding a new grade each year to continue to bless the needy children God brings to this ministry. Now, in 2022, we are providing every grade level necessary in the Honduran education system, which is preschool through sixth grade.

HOPE HIGH SCHOOL

Hope High School is a formal educational system serving students who are unable to continue their education past the sixth grade due to financial hardship.  Hope High School is a place for them to complete their secondary education.

HOPE VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

HVTI is a school that is designed to teach career skills and promote moral and spiritual values through vocational training. This kind of life-changing training would normally be out of reach for most of the local population.

All of our classes were temporarily suspended due to COVID. Our goal is to gradually continue to open the remaining programs so we can serve our community with vocational training.

STUDY CIRCLE FOR TEACHERS

Study Circle is a program for teachers to grow and learn together. Every two weeks the teachers meet to study pedagogical books and educational videos. Each teacher has the opportunity to participate based on their experience and share the strategies that are being effective in their classrooms.

IMPACT PROGRAMS

High School Devotional.

This is a weekly space created for our high school students to meet, sing, pray, and hear a teaching from the bible..

Spiritual growth program for our teachers.

With the purpose of growing together spiritually and keeping our staff members united, every week we meet to study a Christian book and discuss what God is teaching each of them through this reading.

Youth Camp.

Our annual youth camp is for all of our High School students. During the school year each of them is part of bible classes and ministry activities. This camp is held at the end of the school year as a grand finale to all these ministry activities. It is a time to have fun, be together, learn, process what they have learned in the year, and be ministered to. Our students love this special time and look forward to it all year long. A specific theme is always chosen for this event that reaches a need that has been seen in the student body. God works incredibly during these camps and provides us with a spiritually impacting time with our students.

Thursday Devotionals.

Every Thursday the Youth Pastors lead a devotional time for any young person who wants to come. This space consists of the reading of a specific book in which the young people are reading and sharing. They discuss with each other what they learned, how they can apply this in their daily lives, and how this shows them Jesus and helps them have a closer relationship with Him.

Peace Band.

Honduras celebrates its Independence Day every 15th of September. This date is highly celebrated throughout the country and all schools are required to participate in a parade. La Banda de Paz (Peace Band) is our music band that represents us as an institution in our community during this great national celebration. Each band member is trained in the mastery of an instrument starting at the beginning of the school year.

La Garra.

La Garra is the men and women’s High School soccer team. The purpose of this program is to provide a healthy outlet for these student’s love of soccer, teach them to work together as a team, share biblical devotionals, and create a mentoring relationship between the coaches and players.
